For parking on the day of the Spring Festival, you have the following choices:
(1) Underground - You may park underground directly below the convention center by going into the P3 Visitors entrance as you drive into the plaza complex. However, note that the parking price this year is $5. It was $2 last year but the state has recently raised the price. It is the most convenient parking but it is not free. Also, be prepared to show your id such as drivers license for security reasons.
(2) The best choice for free parking, which is also convenient, is the East Garage. It is a very large, multi-level garage adjacent to the plaza. There is a walkway into the plaza complex. Please follow the following directions for this garage: As you drive into the plaza complex, stay in the left lane and follow signs for "South Parking." The road will go uphill and through a tunnel. The road will then go into a U-turn and go downhill through the same tunnel. As you go the tunnel again, get into the right lane. Immediately after you come out of the tunnel, take the exit for "Parking Garage" on the right. It comes right away so be careful. This is the East Garage. Follow signs for the walkway after you park.
(3) There is also a free parking outdoor lot called the Cathedral Lot. It is on Madison Avenue between the State Museum Building and the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception church. It is also a short walk to the plaza complex. You can go into the complex on Madison Avenue and walk indoors towards the convention center |
