TRICIA SUPPORT GROUP

The TRICIA Support Group has completed over ten years of service to the Indian community of the capital district. Since its inception in 1996, the Support Group has served as a channel for immediate personal assistance for critical problems and issues, and as a vehicle for encouraging and facilitating interaction among our vibrant community. The Support Group has the following specific objectives:

  • Provide personalized assistance to individuals and families to deal with medical, social or family issues, while maintaining absolute confidentiality. The issues and incidents handled to date include physical abuse, spousal relationships, child custody, and medical illness.
  • Organize and conduct frequent seminars and professional presentations annually on a variety of issues that may be of interest to the Indian community, and which also promote self-development.
  • Serve as a resource and a facilitator in the area to promote Indian cultural and social values

The Support Group consists of dedicated members of the local Indian community who possess specialized skills, and who are ready to help individuals to deal with complex issues. The Group has handled over forty cases in the past, and its officers are available at all times. The Support Group is dedicated to meeting with the individual community member or family to help address a specific problem, including referrals to expert services. Many of the members have expertise in areas including social work, medical field, financial management, government programs, and personal development. They are all long-standing members of the community and are ready to help.

Although an integral part of TRICIA, the Support Group relies on contributions to fund its activities. Contributions are welcome and would be greatly appreciated. Suggested contribution levels are $250 annually for a family and $150 for an individual. However, any size contribution is welcome.

Please contact any of the members for any help.
